The fact that Mars happens to be in Lilycove City is a matter of chance: right place, right time. The fact that he also happens to look up to the billboard as it glitches out while displaying one of P.O.G Bank’s ads, though? That’s thanks to the Meowth by his side, who is quick to tug on his clothes and point up.

Said Meowth also appears in the screen up above, but there her face is a mess of pixels in red and blue. P.O.G Bank’s CEO frowns slightly at the sight, and he frowns even more when noticing the people nearby who pause when looking at their phones.

A swarm of Porygons dash past mars, giggling wildly as the technology in the area seemed to begin to go haywire. Normally Rotoms were the ones who were up to no good with their technomancy abilities but this time it was Porygon. [break][break]

"Get back here!" she shouted as Melody and Anderson (Glastrier) charge down the street after those porygons Icicles shooting after the porygons who dodged the attacks as if they were made of butter. "Fuckers!" she said not noticing she dashed right past Martín del Mar.

Cheeky little BUGgers! She wished joltik could get close enough to slow them down.

He could choose not to intervene, but he does have a few phone calls to make, and “P.O.G Bank’s CEO helps E4 solve crisis at downtown Lilycove” is always a good headline, isn’t it?

Cash Money is called back, and from a Luxury Ball, his own steed is released in her place – Arion’s spectral mane billowing despite the lack of wind. Mars mounts, and when doing so, he tries to wake his phone’s Rotom.

”Deal with the Porygon.” He tells it just as the Spectrier takes off in pursuit. Soon enough, they reach Melody’s side, and it’s with the smirk that he greets her:

One of the porygons begins to charge up the GRASS TYPE attack, solar beam. However thanks to the fact the sun was not very intense at the moment it took longer to launch the attack. [break][break]

Anderson was going to counter but Melody got distracted by the fact that Martín del Mar had just showed up out of nowhere. It was a stroke of luck since now another capable trainer was in the mix. "Appreciated!" she replies as suddenly the solar beam fires aimed at Martín del Mar and Melody pushes him down. [break][break]

"Fight back!" she orders as the Pokémon dashed forward and used double kick on the porygon who had attacked. "I think they have a virus or something!"

Arion’s GRIM NEIGH rings through the streets when the SOLAR BEAM just barely misses him, the spectral horse’s annoyance being nothing short of audible. He clearly intends to make the Porygon pay. Mars, however, know all too well that most of the Spectrier’s attacks won’t do much against his intended target.

”A virus?” Mars echoes Melody’s words, looking up at the small swarm of Virtual Pokémon. The mere sight of them brings memories of the Cloud, and with those memories comes a certain sense of uneasiness.

The Rotom moves rapidly in the air, zapping from one spot to another. The moment it gets closest to the Porygon, it unleashes a DISCHARGE that hopefully will help disable a couple of them.

”Hm...Do you think they can be hacked?”

Rotom are great at possessing things, aren’t they?

"I'm not sure! I'm not tech savy!" she says as Melody is totally unaware of how porygons work in terms of technology and living being. It was a rather unique organism. [break][break]

She however decides that now mars is here "But one thing I do know, is someone likes to punish unruly pokemon!" she shouts as Cobalion suddenly leaps into the battle, unleashing his sword and using SMART STRIKE on the porygon who got caught in the discharge attack. Cobalion nods to Melody, ignoring mars entirely to which melody chastizes him "Don't be rude! say hi!" she says putting her hands on her hips but he refused. "Stubborn old goat." [break][break]

3 more porygon remained and Melody had to keep the pressure on them. However they also were going to retaliate, all three of them charging up a ball of rapidly changing colors by combining their TRI-ATTACKS into one massive one that began to blast the area around them. "Cobalion!" she called out as he leapt in front of the party and began to use SPIKEY SHIELD to throw a massive barrier around them.

Mars knows as much about technology as the next guy, but it’s not like he’s a genius hacker or anything. A man can only be so skilled, right? It’s why he pays people like ambrose orion to deal with things like those for him. However right here, right now, it’s only him and Melody Miro, and they sure don’t have the time to sit around and wait for I.T to show up. So, naturally, the Porygon will be dealt with as they best know how.

He sure could do without Cobalion’s scorn, though.

An eyebrow is raised in response to the Sword of Justice’s attitude, but Mars quickly decides to simply brush it off with a laugh. He gives a short whistle as a command for his Rotom, and one more Porygon is disabled by a DISCHARGE in the middle of shooting their TRI-ATTACK. Lights collide against Cobalion’s barrier, causing spikes to shoot out towards the Virtual Pokémon.

Arion decides to seal the deal with a DARK PULSE.

Up above, over the buildings, the billboards start to once again display their usual ads.

”Looks like that may have been all of them. It’s always exciting to see you, Melita.” He teases, smirking, since more often than not things tend to be this chaotic or more when they run into each other. Yet, that smirk fades when glancing at her legendary companion, making the very important addition: ”...And Cobalion.”

The porygons were eventually subdued thanks to the efforts of both Mars and Melody [break][break]

She coward behind the shield cobalion created, her hair coming loose in several places before eventually it peters down and Mars ends it all with a dark pulse. [break][break]

Once she hears several pokemon bodies plunk to the floor and they're fainted does she creep out behind him. "Thank god that's over."[break][break]

"Hola Mars." she says happily as she undoes her hair tie and flips her hair forward and fluffs it slightly, then gathers it all while she ties it back into her ponytail. "Yeah, thanks for the help. Sorry about him too by the way, he really hates people. I'm trying to get him to warm up to them but he's a stubborn old man." she says apologetically as Cobalion wanders over to the porygons, picking them up with his maw like a mother cat grabbing het litter and placing them onto his back. [break][break]

"Thanks for the assist. Things have been rather...extra chaotic lately. I guess the Pokémon can sense and see the meteor coming now." she guesses as these porygon were usually behaved according to their trainers.

He leaves it at that, not wishing for their conversation to turn to even more displeasing subjects. In many ways, it is true: if Cobalion already hated most people, that feeling must have been increased tenfold after the recent attack at her concert hall. He really doesn’t blame the Sword of Justice for it, but it is unfortunate.

”Oh… Is that what you think caused this? That would make sense.” He muses, watching Cobalion and the Porygon. His Rotom is called back to the confines of his smartphone with a whistle, and the Spectrier stares at its icy counterpart.

”You know I’m always happy to help. Sounds like the League might have their hands full with all of this, though. Don’t overwork yourself.”
[break][break]
He smiles at her. For what it’s worth, despite it all, Mars finds that he does mean his words.

She tried to not think about it too much as it bothered her and it was easier to just pretend it didn't happen. But that was sadly not how the world worked as melody quickly learned. "Yeah. Every time im just about to convince him something happens. Starting to think he's right honestly." she says awkwardly. That brilliant resilience everyone around her was accustomed too burnt out like a light bulb. [break][break]

"Seems like no one has enough hands anymore these days." she comments as she was sure Mars was dealing with problems regarding the meteor as well. "But, cant let that stop me from helping where I can. I'm not allowed to take a break." she says trying to end it on a positive note.

The idea of Melody Miro hating the world – hating people – is strange. Mars himself may care little for most people, he may see them as tools and only be interested in how useful they are, but that’s him – he’s detached regardless of how caring and nice he may act. Melody, though? Melody actually cares and the world has wronged her for that.

It’s a shame, but he won’t try to convince her she’s wrong for seeing people under a new light.

”Mel, you’re allowed to do whatever you want.” He tells her instead, eyebrows raised. There’s a smile; slight, soft, and sympathetical. ”Just make sure you’re happy with what you’re doing. Being able to help yourself is important too.”

Is it that he actually cares? The answer is complex, honestly, but perhaps Mars does care about certain people who he knows to be enemies...
